poor customer relations policy and bad service
This is a request and a complaint in reference to the Clinton, North Carolina Store #0086. I have shopped at this store for years, back then it was in downtown Clinton and had 2 floors. I have always enjoyed shopping there. I decided to get a Belks credit card a few years ago verses paying cash or check all the time.
I was a this location on 5/14/04, I was with my husband and therefore did not have my purse with me. We purchased a Gift card for $100.00. I requested the clerk to wrap it as it was a birthday gift for my husband's mother. I was advised that she could not wrap it without seeing a Belks' credit card. I then advised her that I had left my card at home. She informed me that without seeing my card she could not wrap it. She stated that your policy is as follows:
In order to wrap a gift even with curtsey wrap a customer must show a Belk's Credit card or the purchase must be at least $100.00.
I asked her if the gift card was not consider a purchase and her reply was NO. She then called the store manager and this was confirmed.
I asked she to look at my account to confirm I have a card she refused, yet they will take a payment from me without any problem at all.
I and several people I shop with have noticed that since the new manager has taken over the atmosphere in the store has changed and not a positive change.
I feel at point that my business is not needed my your store and I am considering closing my account with your company. I do not believe that your or any company can survive treating their customers in this matter.
I can only assume that the Company is in financial difficulty that would required the above measures to cut down on expenses. This I feel will only add to the decline in sales and most surely in the area I live in.
Thank you for your time and please reply on your wrapping policy
