Auto Insurance
I got auto insurance from Safe Auto that I purchased over the phone and paid for over the phone. I did not get any thing in the mail from them within a couple of weeks so I called and was told my policy was canceled.
They had sent all my paperwork to the wrong address by their own mistake and when it was sent back to them they canceled my policy and did not even call me to tell me anything. They have recordings of their calls so they know they were given the correct address by me. It was their employee who entered the wrong address in the computer.
They refused to refund any of my down payment or reinstate my policy or anything. They told me I would have to start all over. "Start all over" seems to be one of their favorite phrases. I have a friend who said they told her the same thing when they claimed they did not get her check that she mailed way in advance of her due date. Is this a gimmick insurance companies use to get more money?
If you start all over you have to give them another down payment? Is that why they lie to their customers about not getting payments on time or saying that they can not reinstate your policy even when they made a mistake? I hate dealing with all insurance companies, but I think Safe Auto Insurance takes the cake!
