I purchased a gateway lap top,what a mistake! first let me tell ya were it started .Computer crashes first week and i call tech support, am advised to wipe hard drive and reload software.

 

Told there may have been problem with factory loaded software.Second week crash again ,told try again same procedure,so i wipe hard drive again. Third week again i wipe hard drive, this time my lap top tells me certain software can not be installed because of missing files from registry.

 

I am now stuck with lap top that requires patches from microsoft to replace missing files i can not even at this point delete my hard drive to start over because these of theses missing files Gateway said they would take product back if i want to pay them$ 500.00 restock fee.

 

This is totally unexceptable to charge me this fee because i went beyond there 15 day return policy. for a bad product that was defective upon receipt of it . I paid 1600.00 pre tax this is totally unfair for this product

I am having the same problem with my laptop. I have sent it back twice and it is still not fixed.
