Symantec-Norton Anti Virus subscription renewal
Symantec Norton Anti Virus.
On 3/25/04 I authorized credit card charge for subscription renewal and did down load of updates. That download caused problems with computer that required that I uninstall and reinstall. I uninstalled and could not find a way to reinstall because I did not have a CD.
So I contacted Symantec on line, then by email and was advised that I would have to contact Dell since it was installed as part of original purchase. Couldn't get an answer from them so I decided to shop around and decided that I'd rather have McAfee. Asked how to get reimbursement from Symantec--but couldn't find an answer on line nor could I find a telephone number for them on any of their web site parts. Finally got a telephone number to call by email.
After many attempts and about an hour on the telephone, I was informed that they could not reimburse me nor cancel the credit card charge until I had proven to them in writing that I had a new anti virus program--a receipt, etc.
This is a ridiculous run around and I hope that no one ever has to deal with these people again. Please have them advise me why when I requested that they not run the charge through, they just don't do it? And, why do they not have a telephone number to call on their web site other than the $29.00 per incident fee one??
