Ticketmaster
I am writing to complain about the horrible customer service at ticketmaster. During the summer of 2003 we purchased 3 tickets to Paul van Dyke's concert at 60 bucks each. When we arrived at the concert and went to the Will Call booth to pick up our tickets, we found out van Dyke had cancelled.
The "event", however, would go on featuring DJ's that were otherwise going to open for van dyke AND tickets were on sale at the door for $25! we wrote ticketmaster on this matter and asked to be refunded 105 bucks we overpaid or credit us 105 dollars toward future purchases.
This seemed reasonable because quite frankly we wouldn't have even paid the $25 if ticketmaster had informed us van dyke wasn't going to be there, but we were willing to part with $75 bucks. Paying $180 for the show is obviously unfair. All we got was an email saying they didn't know about the cancellation and we should check their website for updates on refunds or credits.
I checked for a few days (and there are no "refund announcements" links on their website) basically searching for van dyke refund, etc. There was nothing, and how can they expect us to catch some announcement on their web page? Why don't they just refund my card automatically when the announcement happens? It was complete nonesense and ticketmaster knows it.
I haven't bought a ticket from ticketmaster since, and I just don't go to "tickets by ticketmaster only" events anymore. $105 dollars is not a big deal, but because they scammed me out of it and told me to scram, I am making it a bigger deal.
