I had a routine oil change done at Valvoline Instant Oil Change in Lancaster Ohio on a Wednesday. I was driving back to work when my oil light came on. The car began smelling hot and then the "check engine" light came on. I pulled over and lifted the hood and smoke was bellowing out. There was oil spattered all over the engine, etc. I called Valvoline and they came to see what had happened.

The serviceman checked the oil level and there was NO oil on the dipstick. He pulled the oil filter out and said that when they replaced the filter they "must have broke the seal" on the new one. He replaced the oil filter, added 7 quarts of oil and asked me to go to the carwash so he could wash all the oil off the car.

The next day my car began making a knocking noise. I called Valvoline and they said they would cover any costs in having it checked. I made an appointment for the next day and then Valvoline took a different attitude. I missed two days of work, had to get a rental car for three days and had a bill of $450.00. Valvoline has refused to pay for any of this!

Consumers beware, the "100% satisfaction guarantee" is only a hoax! Valvoline does NOT stand behind their word, their work or their lack of knowledge. I will never go to a Valvoline Instant Oil Change again.
