Thermador Ovens CT227N-3

Purchased Thermador Ovens CT227N-3 a little over nine years ago, the ovens and service have been a nightmare worthy of a Stephen King novel. Problems with ovens in first year were referred to manufacturer, who in turn said the dealer who sold the units was not authorized. Dealer said they were, but they didn't know what was wrong or how to repair, Thermador told me to go to the local yellow pages and find a repair service that could, this was the best they could do.

I am in a small town, the dealer we made the original purchase may or may not have been authorized, it just depended on which Thermador customer service rep you spoke with. Authorized or not they could not and would not make repairs, and Thermador could have cared less. Numerous calls were made to other dealers, seems they didn't service anything over a fifty mile radius after they given the model number. According to several technicians this oven was modified/changed several times during production, I was lucky it worked a year, which made getting parts a real "guessing game" for a repairman.

When I finally found someone who would repair the ovens, the wrong parts were sent twice, I had to pay over $150 mileage and it took over a year, it took two years to get the knobs that were broken during the repair. They discontinued these ovens seven years ago, two years after I purchased them, and according to Thermador they are required "by law" to keep parts available for only nine years. Finally a dealer in my town began to carry Thermador, and has been kind enough to handle repairs, for a fee of course.

The ovens can't be set and the self cleaning mode no longer works, Sensor have already cost $200 and I am without ovens and waiting to hear how much the total repair bill will be and how long it will take, till then I am doing without ovens.

I wrote Thermador a third letter of complaint, they offered me a 10% discount on a new oven. If you had these ovens and had the same types of problems, please write your states Attorney General and complain I am and I will be sending an additional 49 copies as well. These ovens were inferior and had problems from the beginning and Thermador knew it!
