DSL service / SBC Yahoo

Customer complaint

SBC Yahoo, San Jose As a consumer, I'd like to write and perhaps bring to the attention of people the administrative headaches

you can have in using the SBC yahoo DSL service. For people such as myself with a long existing yahoo email - to which all my personal communications go -

it seemed great that I could use SBC's DSL service and merge my SBC id with that of my yahoo id and then have yahoo premium services (pop server access, large on-line mail box, sub accounts etc).

But then I moved accommodation, was forced to take a new SBC ID (actually, I had to because they lost my request to transfer my existing service, and thus I was disconnected), and lost my premium service, access to the pop server etc. I cannot re-merge my accounts because my yahoo id is already 'assigned' and I must wait 180 days for it to be accessible again. I've tried repeatedly this year to get this sorted out, but have just given up. People say they will call

back, but never do. And no email is ever answered. So I asked if I could cancel my service, but they

maintain that it will still cost me a 200$ cancellation fee as the actual DSL connection works.

Billing laugh at me, and technical support do not do anything, and although I call them directly leaving

detail messages, they do not call back. Emails are never answered. But this seems harsh, as I am no longer getting the services I originally signed up to have. And, of

course, there is no-one who will take responsibility for this, hear me out, and wave the cancellation fee.

I would simply like to cancel this service, as it does not work as advertised.
