AT&T Telephone Service
AT&T Telephopne service- fto residence in Adelphi, Maryland 20783 Headquarters located in Oakton, Virginia March 23,2004 telephone service to my residence was disconnected without notification. My first call to the company, using my cell phone, revealed that the disconnect was in error.
When asked if the service could be restored as soon as possible with my same telephone number, I was informed that it would take 7-10 days. Subsequent attempts to call the company for resolution of the problem was ineffective. Each time I called and was asked what number I was calling about, the message I received is "that numbr is no longer in service and I was disconnected. I am a senior citizen, living alone with medical problems, and my Life Alert was also disconnected for 4 days until Verizon connected my service with the same telephone number. There was no question regarding an unpaid bill. In January a monthly payment made for my bill was misapplied to another persons account. At that time I sent AT&T cancelled checks dated back to September indicating that the company had cashed my checks each month through January, 2004. I received a letter of apology. This is another example of the poor service and consideratiion for patron. Dr. Bettye J. Miller
