I purchased Symantec's Norton System Works 2003 in Dec and installed it. I realized although it APPEARS to update, it does not. Virus definitions have not been updated since 2002! Run the updates, get the finished messaged, nothing happens.

 

The website gives the usual convoluted instructions but I have done things like this before so I complete all the steps over the next 2.5 hours. No change.

 

The customer support to install a NEW product is not included in the price.

 

To obtain customer service, you have to call a number (not toll-free) that is only serviced during business hours Mon-Fri (so much for home computer users with day jobs!) and the call costs money starting at $30 - AS MUCH AS THE PRODUCT IF they had given me the rebate.

 

Which they never did.

 

Who ever heard of software with no install help? Why didn't the package notify that there would be no install help or customer service?
