MTNL - request for new telephone connection at Thane Cherai branch

Telephone connection.

To

General Manager, With great regret I would like to inform you that I am compelled to take a decision of not taking the service of MTNL. Anybody in my place would do the same thing. I had given a request for a new telephone connection at Thane Cherai branch. My work order number is 780 and i had booked on 5th Feb 2004 I was told to come one day to collect the receipt. When I had been there to collect my receipt the person concerned has put some WORK ORDER number.

I was asked to go to Yashodan Nagar, Thane for getting the connection. I am a new resident at Ghodbunder Road , Vadavli. There I came to know that I had to go to Manpada since I am residing at G B Road. The person at manpada informed me that the work order number was given wrong and I need to go to Cherai and rectify it. I then went to CHerai and then rectified and then submitted to Manpada. This whole process only took several days of mine.

Where I thought this is really bad where a customer needs to go round and round for getting the WORK ORDER number , which I feel should be the duty of the MTNL officials. The mistake which they had done I am person responsible to go here and there to recitfy. I was surprised why the Manpada division call up the CHERAI and make the things correct. Apart from this, I am sorry to say it took almost 20 days to just put a telephone in our house. This came after many request to the Manpada Division. But till now the connection is not yet received.

If this is the service which the customer receives I am sorry nobody will opt for MTNL.Atleast I would suggest people not to opt for it even though the other person has to shell some money for some other service providers. Also the customer service lady was impolite when said about the concern. I would appreciate that you consider this as an example for improvement in the MNTL working system and strive to look for customer satisfaction and proper service. Regards,

Harish Kumar
