In December 2003, I was made aware of incorrect information listed on my credit report. I immediately contacted the credit bureaus with supporting documentation and requested my reports be corrected and a complete updated copy be forwarded to me. I was subsequently told by two bureaus they could not accept my documentation and offered no explanation why.
I have written to the president of both TransUnion and Equifax on numerous occasions and to date have not received a reply from either. After several attempts, another staff member of TransUnion partially corrected my report and Equifax refuses to respond at all. I have researched the federal codes and both TransUnion and Equifax are in violation yet they continue to defy the laws set in place to protect consumers. Is there no recourse for innocent consumers that have fallen victim to the sloppy business practices of these credit bureaus? Barb W
