On December 20, 2003 I purchased a new 2003 Outlander from Burlington Mitsubishi. I transferred plates and registration but had to wait for the new registration, inspection decal, and title to arrive from NJMVS. I contacted the dealership on January 10, 2004 because my temporary registration tag had expired the day before and was told that my registration and title were not in yet and that I had to drive to the dealer to get an extension letter. I asked that this be faxed but I was told that I had to have the "original". After driving 15 miles I was given a copy with my car's information filled in which I had to sign.

There was no reason this could not have been faxed. I then contacted the dealer several times over the next several weeks regarding my documents and was always not that it was "not here". I finally contacted the Title Clerk since it was early February and was told that it was "odd" that it was not in yet and that she would check on it but she never returned my call. I called several more times leaving messages for her but those were never returned. I finally was told on February 21st that my documents were in. I drove the 15 miles to find that the title was missing. The salesman refused to speak to me, and the manager decided to give me a detailed explanation of how the title goes to the finance company. There was no finance company!! I contacted the owner the following Monday and suddenly my title miraculously appeared that afternoon.

I contacted the BBB and the owner, Vincent Petruzziello, claimed in writing that my registration had been available for pick-up on January 13th and that NJMVS had my title in Trenton for some unknown reason that entire time. No apology or explanation was ever offered. In these days of identity fraud, the fact that my registration and title were missing for more than a month is cause for great concern and distress. The only way to confirm that no fraud was perpetrated is to spend my own money getting my credit report from Equifax, TRW, and TransUnion.

My 3000 miles service would have been free if I had taken it to Burlington Mitsubishi but I chose instead to spend the money by taking it to Cherry Hill Mitsubishi. I do not want anything to do with this dealership, the owner, and the people it employs.
