Citifiancial

I have a complaint about Citifinancial, I left my husband in March 2001, at the time both of our names were on the mortgage so in October 2001, I signed a quit claim deed to give up my rights to the house. In Nov. my husband was told he would have to refinance the loan to get my name off. He elected to have 3 types of single credit insurances included in the loan, disability, involuntary unemployment, and life to cover the loan in case something happened to him.

In Feb. 2002, he decided to drop ALL the insurances on that loan. In April 2003 he was involved in a motorcycle wreck which took his life on May 12, 2003. After everything was settled down we contacted the office to see if the life insurance would pay the loan off. We were told he had dropped the insurances earlier and there was no insurances on the loan.

To make a long story short we were keeping up the payments as best we could, and in December 2003, my daughter went into the office to make a payment and asked why the payments were so high. The branch manager pulled it up on the computer and showed her that my husband had only had it financed for 10 years.

While she was looking at the screen, she noticed something listed as "other" and asked what that was. He told her "Oh that is the disability insurance and he would take care of that." OUR question is why was there still insurance of any kind 2 years after he cancelled ALL insurances????

We have spoken to 3 attorneys here and they all say we have a case against them but they want a arm and leg to represent us and we can't afford that. And Citifiancial has started foreclosure on that loan but as a last ditch effort my 19 year old daughter got the deed put in her name and has filed bankruptcy on the house. She has put her future on the line to keep her daddy's house.

Now the chapter 13 payments are higher than the house payment itself was. It's not fair what they are getting away with. Thank you for listening...
