Thursday, May 27, 2004 This may save you some time and a large headache. On May 10th we had a small thunder storm. My XP operating system lost the starting point in the *.dll file to the registry, well I am down! I had to reload XP and all of my programs to be able to run again. Done great until I reload Norton-AntiVirus. The Anti virus would not run, accept in trial mode. I tried everything known to mankind, nothing! I finally get a human being this morning at Symantec. She verified my account number, e-mail address and my name (I did not have the order number). The account was a year old this past March, I had paid the annual renewal March 20th this year. Subscription had 10 months left to run! Guess what! Policy is, without the “order number” you must upgrade, even though I produced the vital info I thought, and had 10 months left on the subscription did not matter. I would have to pay again and loose original registry fees and the balance of the renewal. May pay you to get all of your information together, just in case you get shut down due to some event out of your control… God bless, Morris C
