David's Bridal Queens NY
Hi All, I went in to purchase a dress at David's Bridal in 48th street Queens NY a few months a go. I got there and was helped after a long wait. My dress was ordered and I was told that I have to wait for it to come in. I have been calling for over three weeks now and I have gotten a several different responses on when my dress may come in.
I was told at the time of ordering that that after it comes in I have to do alterations which would take a month but I was assured that I would receive my dress in time for my wedding in August. I have been calling them for some time now and they keep telling me that every weekend so far that it will be in. Now I can't even get a hold of someone since all they are doing is saying they will call back and never do.
They put me on hold for long periods of time when I do talk to someone. I still have no clue when my dress will be in. I have paid in full for my dress already. Had I known that I would have this problem I would never have ordered it from David's Bridal! Planning a wedding is stressful as it is now the bridal store adds more stress. I would think that when you spend a significant amount of money in one store that you will have at least decent service. I wish someone in that store knew what they were doing. Thanks, A

I just wanted a simple wedding dress since I am only getting married with about 10 people watching me on a little island. Even though I had an appointment for 1 pm, they did not see me until 1:45 pm. Additionally, the woman forced me to put on some huge girdle thing and proceeded to bring me a size that was 4 sizes too big so that I would have to purchase this huge torso girdle, plus have to come in again for "alterations." What a racket! Finally, I found a dress that fit perfectly after I sternly told her to bring my exact size. The best part of the experience is that the dress only cost $200!!! Much less than I ever thought I would spend on my wedding dress. HOWEVER BE WARNED: I FILLED OUT SOME PAPER WORK AT DAVID'S BRIDAL AND THEY SOLD MY INFORMATION TO OUTSIDE ADVERTISERS. I NOW RECEIVE WEDDING ADVERTISING RELATED TELEPHONE CALLS AND WEDDING RELATED MAILINGS ALMOST DAILY!!!!! What David's Bridal is doing is actually illegal under the consumer practices act and the fair business practices act. If I wasn't so busy myself being an attorney, I would consider a lawsuit. DON'T GIVE OUT ANY PRIVATE INFORMATION TO DAVID'S BRIDAL. YOU WILL BE SORRY.
