I had a man call me from the credit foundation of America in October of 2003. I told him that I was interested in the program and would like more information on it. He told me that I needed to put a 299.00 deposit down before he could start me in the program and send me the paperwork. I then gave him my account information but was told that no money would be withdrawn from my account until all of the paperwork was signed and sent back. When I received the paperwork I then decided to not go on with the program because it really did not sound like something that I would really benefit from.
I called the company back and told them that I did not want to participate in the program and they proceeded to talk me into staying by waiving all fees, but they would still need to have the deposit. I then told them OK and was told again that I needed to send back all of the paperwork so they could proceed with the deposit. I still did not send anything back to them.
In Feb. Of 2004 a withdrawal of 150.00 came out of my checking account unauthorized from this company and in march of 2004 another 149.00 came out as well. I was livid. I called them many times trying to get ahold of a "real" person to talk to and all I got was a voicemail. I finally talked to someone and told them I no longer wanted to be in the program for the second time and I wanted my deposit back as well since it was never authorized for them to take out in the first place.
The lady I spoke to said that they would make a note to discharge me and send a refund as well. Well, they did discharged me but it is now almost July and I've yet to see any refund check. I spoke to a man last night from the company and he had nothing but attitude with me and then apparently had had enough because then he just blatantly hung up on me without another word. I feel that this company is very kniving and manipulating and they will do anything to get a dollar out of somebody. They target people who are very vulnerable.
I personally am a single mom who at the time was trying to consolidate student loan debts and credit card debts from being in college. I think it is awful the things that they have unrightfully done to innocent people who are just trying to keep their heads above water. If anyone has any questions or comments please e-mail me
Thank you,
