Sensory Integration International 2340 Plaza Del Amo Suite 235 or PO Box 5339 Torrance, CA 90510 1 (310) 787 8805 I am an Occupational Therapist who signed up for a continuing education course through Sensory Integration International last June. I was charged $465 on my credit card for the course, in addition to a $60 membership fee (which was supposed to have reduced the cost of the course to $405, but they charged me incorrectly-- I later realized this). The course, which was to take place in Cincinnati September 12-14, 2003, was rescheduled for November due to low enrollment. Then in November, I received a call which stated that the November course for Cincinnati was cancelled. They then asked if I could attend the course in another city. At first I agreed to attend in Chicago, but then later tried to call and change to Charleston, South Carolina. However, my calls were never returned, and I had no idea if my registration had been changed to Charleston or not. Finally after many unanswered phone calls, I decided to cancel my registration and ask for a refund. I was assured that I could receive a full refund of $465 provided I faxed in a letter of explanation and a copy of my receipt. I did this, and received a phone call of confirmation from "Kimberly". However, after a few months, I received no refund. Finally, I had my lawyer write a letter asking for the refund. Again, I called several times and finally got a hold of Anthony Wells, the executive director, who assured me I would receive a refund. I even received a letter date April 2, 2004, which stated my refund request was being processed, and gave me a confirmation number of 147051. However, it is now June and I still have not received a refund. It is past the time frame for me to dispute the charge with my credit card company. I have called SI International numerous times and always get a recorded message; I leave a message, but I never receive any calls back. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau, the California Board of Occupational Therapy, and the Federal Trade Commission, so I am waiting to see what comes of that. From what I have now been able to find on the internet, I am not the only one that they have done this to. I would like people to know that they should not do any business with this company.
