Hampton Bay Dehumidifier
DO NOT BUY Hampton Bay appliances from Home Depot (or Fedders appliances from anyone else)!! My Hampton Bay dehumidifier (manufactured by Fedders, sold by Home Depot) stopped working while it was still under warranty. I found a factory authorized service center (After Hours Appliance Repair) through the Fedders.com website and took the unit there for warranty repairs on May 18. Two weeks later they had not begun the repairs and a couple of days later they stopped answering their phone (messages left on their answering machine were not returned). I requested help from Fedders Appliances by email and that's when the fun began. After almost a month's worth of emails back and forth with semi-literate "customer service representatives" and numerous requests that were ignored for a phone call from a Fedders manager, I am no closer to having a functioning dehumidifier on June 25 than I was on May 18. The Fedders organization has erected a stone wall around the management team and they are unresponsive and anonymous. This company does not deserve my business or yours. It is impossible to get past the women who answer the phones and they could care less that I'm angry and unlikely to ever buy another Hampton Bay or Fedders anything.   Click this link to e-mail the above consumer: // From: Message Author (click here to email author) (no email address available)Date: Sunday, 27-Jun-04 00:00:00 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
