My name is Brian W from Augusta Georgia and I purchased an X-Box on December 24,2003. I paid $189.00 + tax . It is now 7 months and a few days later and my X-Box is DEAD!! I thought it might be a defective power cord so I took it to a local game store where they were kind enough to plug their cables to my machine and unfortunately unit would still not do anything. They said X-BOX has had a history of failing power supplies.

 

They could fix it for $90. I told them thanks but no thanks. So I called 1-800-4MY-XBOX and I explained about the complaints I read on internet with thousands having the same power failure with X-Boxes as I have with my system and I just wanted my unit repaired. Not asking much I thought, since I have one of the first Playstation game systems and it still works and I also have a Playstation2 and it still works!! I thought with all of Microsoft's technology and genius, surely my X-BOX would at least last more than 7 months, especially for the enormous price I had to pay!!! I just need some help!!!

 

He [the spokesperson for Microsoft] put me on hold several times and told me for $91.00 + tax I could ship it to them and have it repaired. I told him it should not be my expense and he put me on hold again, came back online and was going to troubleshoot over the phone but guess what..... he could not get his computer to work!!!

 

So he asked if I would call back, I did and went on to explain my situation for the second time and was told again that I had to pay $91.00 + tax. I asked for a supervisor and was put onhold again. The operator told me he could not find a supervisor but he would have one call me in 24/48 hours. I am not asking for unreasonable service I just want what is right!!!
