Subject: angry consumer

Dear Complaints

I'm so angry because the following dealership is getting away with deceptive sales practice. I purchased a Jeep Cherokee at Dave Edwards Toyota June 28 2003 the next day the engine light came on. Taking it back you want believe the service I was given. My daughter can vouch the way they ignored me, the same people who so graciously congradulated me wouldn't acknowledge me or give me eye contact.

They installed a battery that was to big and didn't have brackets to hold it down. Since the battery wasn't the solution I was told to come back in nine days because they didn't have an diagnostic machine which I just couldn't believe this being a big dealership.

Other mechanical problems surfaced. When it came time to diagnose the problem I was told that I needed a oxygen sensor and that my warranty want take care of this and that nothing was wrong as far as my other complaints were concerned but one of the other complaints were found by a friend who is a license mechanic.

Also I did a history report on the vehicle it came back as nothing being wrong. What I failed to see in the report is what I found out a couple of days later is that a individual after learning where I purchased the vehicle had me compare vehicle numbers and we learned that he was a previous owner I wasn't told about,he ridded himself of this vehicle because something was wrong with it. The car salesman told me this vehicle was owned by a retired couple and that it was a one vehicle owner.

I did tell my story to The Department Of Consumer Affairs and through them the manager sent a reply letter from the manager responding that I was just angry that the warranty did'nt take care of the complaint.I've had countless repairs before a year has rolled around.

What tops it off is the scare I got while driving home March 20 2004 when I thought the transmission went out on me. What my jeep did had this happened the following week I'd plan on going to Atlanta or any big city could have been tragic. Whom can I contact on this matter

Sincerely

Sandra Y Sandra Y
