My name is John B. On Wednesday, July 14, 2004 my family stayed at the Comfort Inn near Santa Claus Indiana. Within 5 minutes of our arrival my sons notified me that the toilet was clogged. We noticed that in the bathroom waste can was a plunger. I immediately went to the front desk and asked for a new room with a working toilet, since this one didnt and obviously there is a need to keep a plunger handy. I was told that all other rooms were booked (which I can understand) and to just keep plunging it which I objected to.
I was told that ALL the rooms had plungers in the bathrooms (true?). Anyway after 2 visits to the front desk and 2 calls to the maintenance person (who I guess is on call not on site) they got him in to fix the toilet. While they were calling him my family went to Holiday World. When we returned the toilet was fixed.
However, sitting down to unwind after a long day we realized that the TV set didnt get all the channels advertised. The hour was late and considering the uphill battle I had to get the toilet fixed I decided to inform the desk when we arose. When we did wake up I walked barefoot from the bed to the bathroom and realized the carpet was wet from the Air Conditioner under the window. To top it all off when I flushed guess what was stopped up? Thats right the toilet. So we checked out and I spoke to the Manager who I told I wanted to use the Satisfaction Guarantee. She said she didnt have the authority to do that. I filled out a paper stating my problems and left it for her to forward. I am unsure I trust her to do so. So I am writing this too. I want to know what you can do to satisfy me about this stay. I frankly have not ever tried your chain before; preferring Hampton or LaQuinta. We booked in advance through the internet. Please respond.
