Buy.Com I purchased a Linksys/Cisco VPN router from Buy.com. The router turned out to be defective. My network was down. Linksys said I should contact the vendor where I purchased the router to get a "quick switch" of the product.

Buy.com has a very bad customer service system. First, the ask that you write them an email to tell them your problem but they never respond back to the emails with any relief suggestions. All you get from them is a boilerplate email saying "how important you are to the company. Buy.com has gone to great lengths to remove their phone number from the web site. When I was able to track down a contact number I was able to talk to a customer service rep that had trouble understanding me and had nothing to offer me but scripted information as to why I could not return the item.

Excuse after excuse was offered such as I have exceeded the 20 day return policy. This was not true since I had just received the item last week. I finally had to talk to a supervisor and even he was very difficult to understand. After much discussion i was issued a RMA number.

I called the company directly to talk to someone there. The best they could offer was "maybe someone can call you back later today."

Do not do business with this company it is not worth the effort.
