Lumber Liquidators (913) 254-9800 1905 E 123rd St, Olathe, KS 66061 We first ordered wood from Lumber Liquidators in the fall of 2003. After a long series of run arounds, they finally promised that the floor wood be here by Christmas at the latest. They should have said April. We originally ordered 1/4 mahogany but after we had paid the down payment, they suddenly realized that it was only available in 1/2 inch and raised the square foot price. When it finally did arrive, we had to lay it by hand because there are no tools to lay more than a 3/8 inch flooring. No one had even heard of a wood floor being that thick.

Anyways, their reason for this unbelievable delay was that terrible manufacturer and we were assured that they had switched to a more reliable one. When we went to lay it, we opened the boxes and some of the pieces had huge holes in them and cracks down the middle. Now, I know that these are natural defects but why the heck would they get processes, stained, boxed, and sold to us? Of course, LL doesn't take back open boxes so we are stuck with several square feet of absolute crap. So when we went to do the floor in the nursery, we reluctantly decided to go with LL again so that the thickness would match the adjacent room we had just done.

Once again, they took our money and assured us it would be here in two months. (These people never have anything in stock and if they do, there's a reason you can't have it.) We didn't hear anything from them and when we finally got them to call us back (something else they struggle with), low and behold... they don't have 1/2 inch but they'd love to give us 1/4 inch- at the SAME price per square foot! Again, the problem didn't lie on their end, it was that terrible supplier. (I though they switched?) So now, my baby will be here in 3 months and we wasted two waiting on this worthless company.

Now we are waiting on a refund and I hope that doesn't take two months! We made sure to inform 3 key people of our troubles: our friend who owns a floor installing company, a friend who works for one of the top architectural firms in Overland Park, and the building director for our international church.
