Hewlett Packard is a well known manufacturer of computer hardware and software. I own a HP laptop, which is now out of warranty. Recently, I had to purchase a new battery for my computer. I received the new battery in the mail with no instructions on installment or more importantly, how to dispose of my old battery. I did some research on the HP website (environmental section) and learned of a battery recycling program. I dialed the main HP number for more information. I was then passed along to several different divisions.

Each service representative I spoke with had no knowledge of the program. The last representative flat out told me that there was no program and offered to send me information via email on how to safely dispose of the battery. The information never came..… COMPLAINT: As a major corporation, HP has a corporate responsibility to the environment which they have failed to recognize. Consumers should be aware of this irresponsibility and hold HP accountable for their actions (or lack of in this case). In the meantime, it would be great if anyone could tell me how to dispose of this lithium ion battery. Thanks, Amanda H
