We have purchased a trailer from a Gulf Stream Dealer in April of 2003. Where we camp we can only use it 6 mo. out of the year. When we returned this April to open our trailer for the new camping season one year to the date we opened to find that our trailer had been leaking.

We notified the dealer immediately. We were told that he thought it was the slide out, he got up on the roof and checked the seal. He then told us that it should be fine. Unfortunately we had no more problems for about two months.

Due to heavy rain the carpet became saturated. I then lifted up one of the table seat benched to see if it was wet under there and the smell of mold and mildew about choked me. I notified the dealer again immediately and he came down some time later in the week and calked all around the area the he thought was leaking. Okay that’s fine.

He had my carpet shampooed and it still smells. We have had very little rain since that weekend. WE have since washed our unit this past weekend not only to fined out that it is leaking but we found a new leak on the other end of the slide out. I have allergies and my son has allergies. This is not a good situation.

Not to mention a leaky trailer is absolutely no good. I can not even enjoy my camping season. I feel this is a structural defect. My dealer seems to think that it is not and that he told me that he is doing this out of the goodness of his heart hoping that we would some day buy another trailer from him. I feel that my unit should be replaced.
