Manager AT complaints,
I came across a posting that has indirectly involved The Colonial Furniture Company.
The complaint appears to have been posted in July of 2004 and is directed at Sun Delivery Service.
The complaint was posted by Alan & Laura H -- Las Vegas NV.
The complaint claims that we hired the delivery service. This is not true. We recommended Sun Delivery, but we will use any service that the consumer requests. The consumer PAID Sun Delivery directly. Technically, the consumer hired Sun Delivery, not Colonial Furniture.
ALSO -- there was not a problem with our furniture. The consumer was not happy with the delivery service. The furniture was fine.
I request that you remove our name from the complaint as it did not involve us.
Thank you for your consideration of this request.

Sun Delivery - unprofessional poor service
Sun Delivery of Thomasville, NC was hired by Colonial Furniture Co. of Freeburg, PA to deliver 4 pieces of cherry hardwood bedroom furniture costing $4,300 to my home in Las Vegas.
July 2, 2004 (Fri) Angela of Sun Delvery called to say that their truck would be "in my area" between Tues July 5 and Friday July 9th. Wife and I arranged our schedules so someone could meet truck during those days to inspect furniture and pay for shipping.
July 5, 2004 (Tues) Angela of Sun Delivery called to say that truck would make delivery on Friday. Would call later with approximate time.
July 8, 2004 (Thur) Angela of Sun Delivery called to say that truck couldn't come on Friday as promised and wouldn't arrive until Sat between 2-6pm. Wife and I rearranged our work schedules.
July 9, 2004 (Fri) Angela called to confirm Sat delivery 2-6pm and to confirm that I had money ready to pay for delivery.
July 10, 2004 (Sat) 11am Angela called to say that truck wouldn't arrive until 8-9 pm. Boy on truck left his wallet at truck stop and they decided to go back to get it.
July 10, 2004 (Sat) 4 pm Angela called to say that now truck couldn't come until Sunday afternoon 12-6 pm. This was unexpected. Explained to Angela that no one would be at the home on Sunday. Explained that wife and I had gotten off work already twice to meet truck that didn't show. 4pm not enough notice to get off work next day (Sunday) when both were scheduled. Angela acted like it was my fault that they kept breaking their appointments.
Asked for Monday delivery. Angela said "NO", the truck had to be in California on Monday. Made me feel like someone else was more important and that it was my fault they had had us take two days off work for appointments they missed. Wrote complaint letter to Colonial Furniture, Freeburg PA.
July 10, 2004 (Sat) 5 pm Angela called to say that they will try to deliver furniture next week on return trip from California. Will have to schedule another day off (At least one. If they cancel again, maybe more). Hope furniture not damaged. This could take years.
Do you think they will care what I'm thinking when they ask me for the cashier's check for the "SERVICE" they provided me?

As a consumer, I was very, very satisfied with the response I got from them, and recommend them as a service provider. Problems can happen, but what is more important is how a company responds to your concerns. They responded very quickly and thoroughly! They care about their reputation and quality of service. This is a good company. From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Monday, 17-Mar-08 11:33:34 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
