MONITRONICS INTERNATIONAL SECURITY MONITORING AUTOMATIC RENEWAL FRAUD.

 

Hello: Monitronics International fraudulently renews contracts. Even when you follow their unpublished policy about how to cancel their membership they fraudulently automatically renew your membership contracts. Read the fine print on their contracts carefully. It states that if they do not receive a written request to cancel your membership at least 30 days prior to the end of your contract they automatically renew your contract for an additional 2 YEARS! This is true even if you move or your home burns to the ground. You must still pay even if you move to an area that has zero crime. No exceptions. Read the reports about their fraudulent business practices at http://www.ripoffreport.com/. Also note that the better business bureau has cancelled their membership due primarily to the many unanswered reports concerning this practice. My original security monitoring contract was not even made with Monitronics. I purchased my system with a local company that did the installation. Two years after purchase my contract was sold to Monitronics and automatically renewed! If you are considering installing a security system or adding a monitoring service Beware! Read the fine print. I went through this whole process and had to pay for an additional year of membership on equipment that did not even work properly.

 

I spent HOURS on the phone. I threatened to contact the media and did contact the BBB. Nothing helped. I had to pay an additional year and 9 months of unneeded service. Even after I finally cancelled they lost my final payment by crediting it to someone else's account. For 3 weeks they harassed me LITERALLY EVERY DAY for the bill I had already paid. I could go on and on.

 

This is the worst company I have ever done business with - endless hold times - No managers on duty - Lies by customer service reps - They hang up on you - they promise to call and never call back. I am not exaggerating about this company at all. You would not believe the problems I had with them. If you need to cancel make sure to send your written cancellation to the correct address in Texas via certified mail and KEEP THE RECEIPT. If you call customer service write down the person's name every time. WATCH OUT! Monitronics Is Cheating Millions of People with their fraudulent business practices! Mike
