Kitchen Aid Ovens

Kitchen Aid ovens (stack) were purchased May 1998. In October 2003, the ovens stopped operating due to a defective microprocessor. An order was placed for a replacement part ($500+).

The part was on backorder, but would be available 30 Nov 03. A letter to Whirlpool (parent company) 23 October, resulted in little information. Sears Parts Dept. called to inform us the part was now back ordered to 31 Dec 03. They again called in late Dec. 03 that the part would not be available until 31 Jan 04. Now, Whirlpool Parts has advised (Jan 29, 04) that the part is on special order.

The part is MFG'd in the USA. This is an expensive kitchen investment. We've missed Thanksgiving and the Christmas holidays and frankly we are getting tired of fried foods and a roaster oven of inadequate heat range and size.

The ovens were fine when they operated, but at this point Whirlpool and Kitchen Aid products are not recommended by this family, because of poor response , support and management of critical parts by the company.

We do compliment Sears for their notification procedure, however.
