AOL Complaint
I've had a free trial of AOL starting 2001 and ever since then, i have had bad experiences with AOL. Every time I try to cancel, they will give you an extra free month or free 2 months and then suddenly out of nowhere, you get charged and you cannot get reimbursed even if you talk with them about the issue.
Then, finally in mid 2002, I was able to cancel my subscription with them, I thought I would be free of AOL's grasp but a representative called me in late november telling me that I have 2 months free to try out the new AOL 9.0.
I told them I won't use it or need it yet they insist that I give it a try, and that they had already activated those 2 free months on to my account. I had forgotten the date the free trial ended because if it ends, I would be billed for the months thereafter.
So, I called early January to cancel my subscription, and guess what? 2 more free months.. but that's not a big deal right? Since it IS free... BUT, then when I check my home's phone bill, AOL is added on there, for the month of december to the end of december, what kind of scam is this?? I called just now to get reimbursement because it's supposed to be a "free" trial.
Guess what she said? She said since I get another 2 free months continuing on from early January, it equals out. What kind of BS is this?? You have to be aggressive with companies and businesses like this, this is just wrong.
