Pedrick Sr. (Memphis, TN) RE: AXA Liberty Bowl Pre-Game Show I would like to thank the E.S.P.N. camera crew and staff for the BLATANT RACIAL DISCRIMINATION given to the East Trigg M.B. Church Youth and Young Adult Choir on December 31, 2003 during the Pre-Game ceremonies by using angled close-up camera shots of actress Sybil Shepherd to not include our choir who was standing directly behind her but showed all the other choirs who were WHITE CHOIR MEMBERS (nothing personal with the other choirs). Our choir was sponsored to perform and be seen on television just as the other choirs and I find this blatant act of selective camera work inexcusable, unprofessional, and distasteful. I would also like to point out the fact that you E.S.P.N had the audacity not to show highlights of Memphis Very Own Superstar Treynice who also performed immediately after Sybil with the Choirs background singing. I understand that you all didn't want Treynice; outstanding performance to embarrass Sybil’s arrogant and unrelenting performance. This act has left a scar in all of us. Our children practice hard for this event. They were so prepared that when rehearsal was schedule our choir was the only choir to show up ready to sing without reading from paper. I know that an Apology is due and any other form of relief to de wrong the behavior E.S.P.N.S’ camera crew and staff. Patiently Awaiting Response Pedrick Thompson Sr. Youth Advisor, East Trigg Ave Baptist Church
