Tracfone - ordered phone in response to advertisement in Jan., 2004 AARP Bulletin - signal strength is too low to use Tracfone - ordered phone in response to advertisement in Jan., 2004 AARP Bulletin - signal strength is too low to use
In response to an add for Tracfone Service in the January AARP Bulletin I charged $104.+ to my Master Card and received a Noikia 5125. I tried off and on for over a week talking to at least a half a dozen Tracfone agents in an effort to get my voice mail enabled so I could use my phone.
Eventually on the 27 of January a Tracfone agent, after trying to find a place within my building where I could get a signal strength over two bars, told me that my cell phone was unusable and he could not enable my voice mail unless I could find a place within my buiilding where the signal strength was at least three bars (vertical bars on the left side of the screen). Am sick about this.
Other cell phone users in the building do not have this problem. I've used the cell phone of my site manager and several times I've seen our building maintenace man use his cell phone. What do I do? There's a Wal-Mart in Eldersburg, Md near where I live (Sykesville, MD) do I take it there to get this resolved?
I'm a 79 year-old senior and am distressed that the AARP, of which I've been a member for over ten years, would advertise something as costly as $104.+ and it proved to be useless. Need some guidance here. Would appreciate a phone call with a suggestion about how to get this problem resolved.
Expectantly
