Maytag Neptune Washer Jan 19, 2003 Second repair needed since February 2003
Haven't fixed the issue w/the mildew water build up or the broken soap dispenser, that is minor compared to the other. Took an act of congress and complaining to Ralph Hake, CEO in Feb '03 to get the controller board fixed last year. They sent it to us and my husband put it in after we were out of a washer for about two weeks. Now it won't go thru the complete wash cycle without being restarted by pushing the start button.
Of course they are completely within their rights by telling us we are out of the warranty period and we need to get an extended warranty for the machine. I had a Sears Kenmore for 20 years prior to this one and never had a service call on it until it died. Maytag doesn't feel this is excessive though, one service call per year. $1000 for a washer and it can't run for more than a year without having to have someone come and repair it. Maytag, you know you have issues with this washer.
If this were Chrysler, Ford Motor Company or Buick they would put out a recall. You have continued to turn your back on the consumers and treat us as though there is nothing wrong. We will show you there is plenty wrong. I am hoping someone will start a class action lawsuit against you. If they don't we will just buy other dishwashers, dryers, refrigerators and recommend others do the same.
