PC World - Mastercare Coverplan

 

I purchased a Packard Bell laptop on 25/11/2002 from PC World Branch 4832, Mile End Road, London.

 

Unfortunately during a break in at my apartment in Dublin, Ireland on 30/08/2003 it was stolen. I made my claim to Mastercare and was issued with product replacement vouchers together with coverplan voucher for the remaining value of the coverplan. I got the said vouchers on 10/10/2003.

 

The vouchers were issued in pounds sterling. On 12/10/2003 I tried to purchase a replacement laptop from Dixon / PC World in Blancharstown, Dublin. The store Managers in both stores refused to accept the vouchers at the equivalent value in euros, they would only accept at face value whereby I would lose about € 700.00. They advised me to get the vouchers converted into euros.

 

On 13/10/2003, I called the Customer Services and was advised by the Customer Adviser to sent back the vouchers, which I did on the same day. I returned the vouchers to Mastercare Service and Distribution Ltd at Maylands Avenue, Hemel Hempstead, Herts HP2 7TG.

 

I have yet to receive the said euro equivalent replacement vouchers from Mastercare. I have had long, frustrating correspondences with Mastercare/Customer Services as well as very expensive phone calls but till todate no reply.
