Maytag Neptune MAH3000AWW/ Machine Control Board

My washer is about 6 years old. The hot water suddenly would not fill (only cold). I traced the problem to Machine Control Board. This was done by checking for 115 voltage at the water valves when hot or cold was selected (this is according to diagnostic instructions found behind the front panel of the machine). No voltage at one or both the valves when selected means a bad Machine Control Board.

So, I purchased a new Machine Control Board for $179.82!!!! I was told by several service people that it is common for this board to go out and I was lucky to get more that 3 years service from this machine without this major problem!!

Anyway, I installed the new board and now the cold water will not fill and the hot water will fill. Again, I checked the voltage and found no voltage at the cold water valve when selected, meaning another bad board. I took the board back and now have to wait for a warranty check for the company (Reliable Parts in Tukwila, WA) to see if they will replace the board.

What a bunch of hogwash!! I believe this is a defective design by Maytag and I forever have lost any faith in their products. By the way, I noticed the Machine Control Board said "Made in Mexico". Well, I wonder if this is the stuff we are to expect when American companies offload the manufacturing of parts and our jobs to other countries. That Maytag repair guy won't be sitting on his posterior anymore!!! Don L

I have the same washer and mine after 4 years will not complete the wash cycle! Flashing "Lr". Repairman says three hundred to fix the motor control board. I wrote maytag and they offer a 20% discount on a new washer but wont pay for repair...HA! I will never buy from them again!! Crap that they wont stand behind!
