on sat.jan.31.04 we were returning home to red deer,AB. from camrose ,AB. shortly after we left Camrose AB. we realized the heater was not working in our 1996 Ford Contour Sport. The temperature was -38C. The windows were freezing up, and we were getting very cold .Soon we arrived in Wetaskiwin, AB. and proceeded to find a ford dealer. we finally stopped at brentridge ford. my husband went into the service dept. , he explained our situation to the girl behind the counter.

he asked if someone could check our car. he was told they were booked , and we could wait for a cancellation , but it was highly unlikely they would have time to check our car.this was 1:15 pm the service dept. was open till 5:30 pm we didnt think we were asking for much, just have a look at our car was it a fuse? was it something more serious?

should we proceed on the highway? we had nowhere to turn so we proceeded on the highway to the next town , ponoka. the temperature was -38 degrees celsius, it was blowing and snowing on the highway.we ended up at ponoka ford. we explained the situation to the girl at the service desk , as we got closer to ponoka ,it seemed that our radiator had also started to steam. the girl came outside and looked under the car to see if we were losing any radiator fluid. she said we should not proceed on the highway , because we could blow the engine. she said we could leave the car and their mechanic would check the car on monday morning.

on mon. feb 2 2004 i called bud williamson at brentridge ford- wetaskiwin . i explained how we were treated at his dealership . he listened to my story. he wanted to know what i wanted him to do about it. i told him i didnt want anything from him, i only thought he should know how his staff treated people who needed emergency help with their vehicle. on tv they advertise CARS COST LESS IN WETASKIWIN, they should add DONT STOP HERE FOR SERVICE BECAUSE WE DONT OFFER ANY. thank you . i look forward to hearing from you. barb bradley
