To whom it may concern,

I signed up for the 14 day free trial on Ancestry.com (800-262-3787)UT on January 1, 2004.

When I called up to cancel it on January 12, after waiting an hour on the phone I finally got a hold of a representative.

They told me that I did not sign up for the 14 day free trial period and that they already charged my account $29.95 and if I wanted to cancel the membership it was going to cost me $99.95. Since this was not what I had ordered I wanted to speak to a supervisor.

Finally after about a week someone finally returned my call. The supervisor assured me that the fees would be waived and nothing would be taken out of my account. She gave me a confirmation # and we said goodbye.

When I received my bank statement about 4 weeks later I noticed that they took out the $29.95 and the $99.95.

I am still waiting to hear back from this company but what can I do in the mean time. Where can I file a complaint to warn others?

Sincerely,

Robert B
