NEVER again will we buy ANY GE product.

We bought a GE side by side refrigerator in May of 2002. Last September (2003) the compressor went out.

We had to wait three days for an appointment, then another four because they had to order the compressor. We spent a lot of money on dry ice to keep our things somewhat cold, and lost much of our refrigerator foods due to spoilage. It was HORRIBLE service.

And NOW (February 2004), the defrost heater has gone out. The service man told me that it is not covered by warranty (even though the refrigerator is LESS than two years old) and we have to pay $180 to have it fixed. Never in my life, have I had such problems with any appliance.

We will never buy GE again. Their products (or at least this one) seem to have plummeted in quality and their "service" is unacceptable. Kim Stanley Kimberly S
