EBAY MUSICAL INSTRUMENT POLICY

Dear Ebay Musical Instrument Buyers,

I am ASTONISHED that EBAY does not require the posting of musical instrument serial numbers IN THE TITLE of ALL musical instruments for sale on Ebay ! EBAY should also REQUIRE that a clear photograph of the serial number be posted with every auction for musical instruments. This would be just plain common sense !

I recently bought an oboe on Ebay which I discovered had been stolen- now police detectives from several states are involved in investigating the theft and sale. A mess- a mess that could have easily been prevented!

The old saying "an ounce of prevention" is worth a pound of cure"...
