I bought a Mcafee Viruscan 2004 in Compusa on 11/24/2003. At that time, there are two rebates, the first one is $20 which is a blue tag on the package and the second one is $35 which is valid from 11/22/03 till 11/30/03. On the next day, I sent the two rebate forms with the original UPC code, original receipt in the same envelop to the follow address; Mcafee Rebates 03-66134 P.O.Box 028509 Miami, fl 33102-8509 Some days later, I received an email from Mcafee but just confirming me the first rebate valued at $20. I was a little surprised so I called 1-866-880-9644 (MacAfee toll-free tel) to ask what happened. The clerk at first just said maybe they did not receive my second rebate form. But I sent the two rebate forms in the same envelop, how could you just receive the first one without the second one???!!! Then the clerk asked me to send the entire photocopy of the rebate form, upc code etc. to the fax 18008868370 and Macafee will process my rebate. I asked him about the eligibility because the valid date has already passed. The clerk confirmed me about it in a word like no problem at all!!! On the second day I faxed the photocopy to 18008868370. About 20 days later, I checked on the http://www.mcafeerebates.com/ but did not find my result. So I made another call to the toll-free tel. A lady picked up the phone and she is totally rude, said something like: I don't know, there is nothing I can help, Lets turn it around and around and around, I still cant do anything about it. So I called again, explained everything again to another clerk. Finally, He just asked me to do the same thing as the first time I calledTo fax my rebate forms again. Ok, I sent it again. After another 20 days, I checked again on the web, still no result. I called again and explain everything again to another clerk. She suggested me to send my photocopy in mail again!!! OK! Whatever you say!! I just follow!! I send it in mail to the above address again. Then today I receive an email from Mcafee rebates center as follow; Rebate: $35.00 Rebate Check. Rebate Information For: 53979428 Promotion: $35 MIR ON MCAFEE VIRUSSCAN PROFESSIONAL AT COMPUSA ONLY. PA # W5783 Submission Type: MAIL Date Received: 02-10-2004 Status: Invalid Status Detail: We apologize for the misunderstanding, but your rebate is invalid because your rebate submission was not postmarked before the promotion deadline. A postcard acknowledging your invalid reason will be mailed to you. OK! Will anyone of your MacAfee could explain it to me! What is the meaning of the word misunderstanding? I misunderstand what? Answer me this question: I sent the two rebate forms in the same envelop, how could you just receive the first one without the second one???!!! Thanks! Mcafee! I know how good you are now!
