I recently applied for a rebate for a Sony DVD RW purchased at Fry's Electronics in Orange County. The DVD RW was purchased on 12/22/03.

We were given a rebate coupon by the store at time of purchase. An ad appeared in a later flyer stating there was a $30 rebate. All the appropriate paperwork was forwarded for the rebate. I received the following: Rebate: $30.00 Rebate Check

Rebate Information For: 53503636

Promotion: Sony DRU510A or DRX510UL - $30 Rebate

Submission Type: MAIL

Date Received: 02-06-2004

Status: Post Card Printed

Status Detail: We apologize for the misunderstanding, but your rebate is invalid because the store you purchased this product from does not honor this particular promotion. A postcard acknowledging your invalid reason will be mailed to you.

Since the ad was put out by Fry's and I was given a rebate coupon by the store where I purchased it, I don't see how the rebate company can claim the strore does not participate.

I was notified by RebatesHQ.com

I also have made appropriate copies of all necessary items.
