Complaint against AIR DECCAN: AIR DECCAN prides itself as low cost no frills airline however it seems to be NO SERVICE airline also. Recently I had a very bad experience with this airline. On 30/11/2004 there was unacceptable delay in Mumbai Bangalore flight (no. DN605). Passengers were not imformed properly and a 2 hour inital delay became 8 hour delay in the end. The scheduled departure time was 1130, it bacame 1430 and at around 1400 it was told that flight could take off only at 1930 hours.

Passengers were very angry and situation seemed to be getting out of control. Air deccan staff was unable to cope and after repeated demands for calling somebody senior, a manager intervened and promised full refund to those passengers who wished to cancel. Myself and my wife opted for cancellation and I was promised full refund to my credit card within 24 hours. We also got back our check in luggage as 'cancelled' passengers. However when I checked after a couple of days, my money was not refunded and hence I called the call center and was told, to my annoynace that it would be refunded 3 days later.

However I didn't get it back even after 3 days and on complaint I was told that my PNR was not marked as cancelled by the airport staff so I could not be given the refund. I was then asked to call airdeccan desk at Mumbai airport but after repeated calling also either noone would pick up or the number would be unavailable. Also I found that 'feedback' link on air deccan website does not work. I tried calling their Bangalore office but it was of no use.

I am still waiting for my money (Rs. 7200). I have spent a lot of time and money on long distance calls. I had similar experience on 02/11/2004 when the same flight had got delayed by around 6 hours, however at that time I just tolerated the delay and chose to fly.

Affected PNR numbers for this complaint are DA00706330 and DA00699446.

I still have cancelled boarding passes with me and I do not know on what grounds AIR DECCAN is playing this game with me. Regards
