On 10/10/04 I purchased one Norton Antivirus 2005 on which there was a rebate offer of $20.00. After registering online for the rebate on 10/12/04 I then mailed the reuired papers as proof of purchase. They were mailed on 10/13/04.

On 11/24/04 I went online to check on the rebate. The tracking results information gave a Status Date of 10/12/04, stating they had not received the mail-in portion of my rebate and stated I should allow 21 days from the mail-date for the rebate to be entered into their system.

It had already been more than 21 days since I had mailed the papers of proof to them. Today I checked online again and the same 10/12/04 rebate detail came up.

A few years ago I made a purchase that offered a $5.00 rebate. I never received the rebate, but didn't follow up on it because it was only $5.00.

I believe Staples makes a practice of failing to honor their offered rebates.
