Amsouth Bank, Dothan, AL - I opened a checking account with Amsouth Bank. I became a victim of Identity theft and Online bank transaction fraud. I brought that to the attention of the bank. The account was immediately closed. Two years later, I received a letter stating that my account was in arrears of 112.00 and was turned over to an attorney collection firm.

AMSOUTH BANK AND CHEQUES SYSTEMS

I opened a checking account with Amsouth Bank. I became a victim of Identity theft and Online bank transaction fraud. I brought that to the attention of the bank. The account was immediately closed. Two years later, I received a letter stating that my account was in arrears of 112.00 and was turned over to an attorney collection firm.

I promptly paid the account and inquired as to the validity of the charges. Amsouth bank shows 2

accounts opened with my name and identity. One is current and closed the other was overdue. Amsouth bank cannot produce the erroneous transactions.

Amsouth bank cannot verify the amount to be 112.00 and instead show 104.00. Amsouth bank does not show the account paid on the date that the transaction was paid. Instead they show the date of the inquiry that I made as the date of payment. They reported the delinquency to cheques systems

and refuse to remove the report which is causing me much grief. I cannot pay bills on time, I cannot open another check account, it's very disturbing. I don't know what else to do. Any suggestions?
