Do your own research using the MTO Website and contact phone number BEFORE you visit this renewal office with a question or concern. I’ve never dealt with a more rude or uninformed employee in my life! My daughter and I lined up in the cold for over half an hour, to enquire about early renewing her licence as she will be out of the country when it expires. The employee simply said “It’s too early to renew it, call this number”. When we asked “What happens when you have an expired licence?” she sighed (audibly enough for the entire lineup of about 50 people to hear!) and said “I have no idea”. Then she just sat there looking at us like we both had two heads. No apology. No “let me find out for you”. No “would you like to call from here?”. No “let me call for you”. Nothing. One would hope that an employee, paid to renew driver’s licences WOULD have some idea (or at least attempt to find out)! This attitude and behaviour from an employee who was only 10 minutes into her day; imagine the poor souls who cross her path this afternoon! Thankfully the gentleman who took my call at the Servicing Toll-Free number was able to address our concerns. He also apologized for the (his words) “… ignorant employee” we encountered early today.
