My name is Danielle Conley, and I am writing to file a complaint against my former landlord Carlos Munoz, I formly resided in his apartment at 1552 N. Latrobe-2nd Fl. Chicago, IL. I moved out on October 30, 2004. I informed Carlos with a 30 day notice letter of my move per his request, upon moving he informed me that he legally had 45 days to return my security deposit of $575.00. He told me that I would have it in 2 weeks. I did not get it in 2 weeks or 45 legal time frame. It is now 2 months and I have yet to receive my refund.
I left him another message to find out why I have not received my refund. I received a call back from a gentleman informing me that Carlos is gone to Costa Rica for 3-4 weeks and I can contact him then. I find this totally unexceptable and want to get a resolution on what can I do as a tenant to get my money back? Please, I would appreciate any information someone can give me.
