AOL e-mail address AOL e-mail address
I opened a new AOL e-mail address a few weeks ago using their spam block and have been receiving numerous pieces of spam with alphabet soup for subjects since. I've sent AOL spam report a message each time, but, of course, I never receive a reply, and the spam with the subject lines that reek of spam keeps coming. This is the latest in a long chain of miserable experiences I've had with AOL services. I know, I should switch my service provider, but that involves finding an alternative that isn't going to be as bad as AOL, letting everybody know about my address change, and very possibly losing old address names I treasure. I've had equally aggravating problems with AOL phone tech service. I don't want to take the time to document them now, but in sum, 9 times out of 10 I get useless advice from them and every once in a while they tell me to do something that not only doesn't solve the problem but involves considerable effort, such as removing their program and reinstalling it. To give just one example, I made 11 calls to the AOL tech support number concerning one problem.
After a few calls I decided the problem was with the server. I kept telling the folks in India that and they kept denying it, telling me they couldn't connect me to a specialist, and offering useless remedies which they swore on a stack of Bhagavad-Gitas would solve the problem. I finally got through to AOL headquarters by calling corporate sales and it turned out that the problem was the server. It's time AOL's miserable excuse for customer service was called to account.
