Dell computer

What does it take to return a computer to Dell. I ordered it for a Xmas present on Dec. 7th and tried for two hours today to get an authorization number they say you must have to make a return.

I was tranferred to numerous departments, sometimes given numbers that didn't get anywhere and was simply given the run around for 2 HOURS. It was simple to order but I think returns are impossible!!!!! I already own a Dell and don't need another one!
