I usually pay my Old Navy credit card bill in full every month. However, my payment reached the bill payment center one or two days late. I paid late fees three times in 2004 and finally called in October 2004 and asked them to remove the latest $25 late fee. They refused and I was told that if I didn't pay it, Old Navy would add $25 a month each month to my balance. They also threatened to report me to the credit reporting agencies.

I wrote to the billing department, registering a complaint. I beleieved that Old Navy would not continue to assess late fees while my account balance inquiry was in effect. I never heard from the Inquiry Department. In late December, I called Customer service and was told by two people that my letter (of Nov. 4th) was never received.

The third person I spoke to slipped and told me it was received and the resolution (dated Nov. 17th) was that I had to pay. She acknowledged that I had never received any notification and stated that that did not prevent Old Navy from adding another $25 to my late fees. My late fees are now $75 (and 3.09 in finance charges on the late fees.

I asked the Old Navy Customer Service manager (Cassandra) to send me a copy of the resolution of my compalint. She agreed to but. a week later, it has not been received. I plan to write to the Billing Inquiry department asking for the resolution of my complaint, in writing. but do not hold out much hope that they will respond.

I just canceled my card, they reduced my credit limt by $100.00 without telling me becuase I paid TOO much on my payments. Since when is it bad to pay your bills????? The web site SUCKS too slow. The CS agents are all foreign and are less them helpful.. They all give you the same type written responses.
