Complaint with Olive Garden

On Saturday August 14th 2004..My best friend and I went to The Olvive Garden on Polaris Parkway in Columbus,Ohio to celebrate our birthdays.We were having 20 guest,and 2 weeks prior to the party we had spoken to a female manager about this party and asked what to do,because they dont take reservations.

 

She told us to come in 2 hours prior t o the party to make sure we could get seated at the time of our party which was at 6:30pm so we went there at 4:30pm..They seated us at 5:30pm and only 4 of us were there at that time.Not did they only seat us but they put our party right smack in the middle of the restraunt,with no privacy at all..

 

Once we were seated I had sked if we could possibly use a 2person table for gifts.The manager said no..About 5:45pm a Male Manager came up to our table and said, "Im sorry but we didnt realize your party wasnt comming till 6:30,you're going to have to get up so we can use these seats for guest that are already waiting,and we'll have to re-seat you closer to your party time,if seats are avalible..Mind you, We had people comming from out of town driving 3 hrs to come,we had sent invitations for people to meet us there at the Olive Garden and not only that,The couldnt promise us seating after another manager assured us it would be ok.

 

Needless to say, we couldnt take that chance and we were very upset that actually did that too us after setting up the party already and then moving us.We did what the wanted us too,to help them out but didnt nothing but lose an extra $300.00 that night and lost 20 customers for a lifetime.

 

We ended up going to O'Charleys and they had us seated within 10mins,gave us a big gift table,and even blew up balloons to sit on the table for us, and allowed us as much time as we needed.Also they even apologized to us for mistreatment of Olive Garden.

 

I will never spend or step another foot into Smokey Bones,Olive Garden, or Red Lobster again. I've had too many bad experiences with them, and this being the worst!! Hungry Stomachs BEWARE!!
